The feature we’re announcing today for our managed hosting platform freistilbox has been many years in the making. The reasons why we’re launching it so late are various and range from design difficulties over COVID to bug hunting. This makes us all the happier that we’re finally able to announce that we’ve added first-class staging instances to freistilbox!

You can now create staging websites for development and testing purposes that use the same Git repository as their related production website. This makes setting up and deploying a staging instance so much easier than before when you had to deal with a separate Git repository for each stage.

To get started with staging instances, simply use the new “Staging” section on your production website’s detail page on the freistilbox dashboard. Click “Add staging instance”, and you’re off to the races!

This feature is already available to customers in our Early Access Programme, and will be rolled out to all our customers on October 31st.
